Time has changed and the pets that were decades ago that were living at barnyard and used for food and work have now become so called members of the family. There are more than one manufactures of the chip leading to the requirement of more than one scanner to scan the chip. Such complications of different standards has the made the chip not to be quite popular method

Being developed for military applications GPS found way to private sector and now has been heavily used right from finding a pet to finding a stolen car. The GPS device available for the pet can be attached to its collar and it can be tracked by using your cell phone, computer or using the website of the device provider. It's extremely reliable and extremely accurate. GPS has enabled it to find your pet precisely without bothering others and it not very expensive now. You can then track your pet's location through your computer, cell phone, or by calling the company you bought the service from. It is amazing technology. You can set up safe zones; such as your yard. If you're pet leaves the yard you could be notified in several ways; a cell phone text message, a beeping noise from your pet's collar, notification on your computer, and even a phone call from the company.
Pet finder technology has revolutionized the way of finding your pet back to your home. Days have gone when you have to advertise for your lost pet and call to pet shelters and roam around in search of your beloved fluffy. With the help of GPS and similar technologies now it has become possible for you keep an eye all the time on your pet location around the world.
