Going Through Harsh Grieving Time with Loss of Pet

Your loving pets are like your family members and losing them is just like losing one of your family members and their lost can have long lasting effects on the surviving members. The grieving process varies person to person and there are times when people just forget about their pets and there are also some people who can't forget the loss for even several years. The grieving can be lessened by a person by denying the fact that any loss has ever happened. This is a kind of protection that can ultimately help in forgetting about the loss. The anger would be somewhat directly related to someone involved with the pet such as the members of the family veterinarians or friends. There might also be a feeling of guilty of what they did or did not do. The experience of grief is different for people of different ages. For children it would be different for adults and aged would be even different.
The loss of pet in the form of death for elders is extremely difficult to be bear and the loss of pet n such age may remind of other people that have been gone and may also remind him the reality of mortality of life and the grievances may grew bigger. The loss may also generate painful memories forever. The loneliness may generate feeling of emptiness and loss of self-worth. In such a situation it is important and advised for the affected to keep communication with the friends and companions to suppress the effects of grief and emptiness. In addition to that there are also some volunteer opportunities at hospitals and schools where you can spend your extra time to down size the sorrows that one is going through
In case of children the response of sudden loss of the beloved pet would be somewhat different and the intensity may would vary between different age groups. The chidren of the age between 3-5 year would belive that the loss is reversible and their loved pet would return back that might no get to it attached emotionally and finally would forget it immediately. The children between the ages of 5-7 would understand slowly and get understandable to the realistic nature of death. However, the hildren of age around 9 would be able to complete understand the mortal reality of life and they might blame themselves and their parents to be responsible of the loss and their emotions would be felt seriously. However it is good to be nearest to reality as if you lie to your children then when coming to reality they may have feelings of betrayal. Parents can model by expressing their own grief which will give the child reassurance, allowing them to know it is okay to be sad and help them work through their own feelings
And there, might be a case with the other pets that might also felt the loss of their companion. Such a situation may distress them and they might have a feeling of anxiety. They can express it but their moments may express their emotions for a bit. The signs may be they refuse to eat or drink. Try to give the surviving pet lots of affection and try to continue your usual routine.
Grief is a very personal experience. However, there are resources available so pet owners do not have to face the loss alone. Some of the support options available are pet bereavement counseling services, pet-loss support hotlines, and online bereavement support groups. In addition to these veterinarian clinics or local animal shelters can also provide resources for support options as well. Grief is a normal process of loss of any loved one.
